Started a 52 selfies project too over on G+, of which this is the first picture. So I guess it is a bit of a cheat to also post it for my 365 project… :P

For my forthieth picture I needed to get more creative than during my last few shots… So I decided to go out after the rain shower, and the result was this reflection of the building!
7 exposures (-2,-1,0,1,2) HDR.
One of the last of the heavy industries in Maastricht: the ENCI, a cement factory. The hill on the left (called “De Observant” or “The Observer”) actually consists of the top soil from where they dug the quarry (where the chimney is standing). On the right side of the quarry you see the farmstead Lichtenberg and the ruins of a castle tower.
New Year day started with a big rain shower (what else is new), so I shot this through the window (hence the slight unsharpness).
The keys are figuratively opening this new year. Let’s hope it’s a good one!
If you have an iDevice, you’ll love Letterpress! I’ve been playing it for some time now, and it doesn’t get boring…
Last photo for this year, I’ll continue in 2013. Happy New Year everyone!
After a downpour in the morning the sun showed herself a little and we visited the little town of Valkenburg. Over the entrance of the so called “Gemeentegrot”, a former limestone mine now used as a tourist attraction, you can find this statue of a limestone miner.
December 29, and it is +10 degrees C. Where did the winter go? Or rather, when will it come?

The cathedral in Aachen, Germany.
Although I’m quite pleased with the colors and detail (and the sharpness, despite the very high ISO), the composition is not so good (just look at the chandelier…).
Maybe this had to do because I had to be quick taking this one: photography was not allowed inside UNLESS you payed one Euro (!), which I didn’t (hey, I didn’t have one on me). If you payed, you could take photographs for private use only (they babbled something about copyright, but for some reason I think the original artists have been dead for ages, what’s more I guess this church was built with community money!).
Since I didn’t pay, I guess this one is not for private use only, so please enjoy!

7 exposure HDR, turned black and white!
The weather has been bad for days in a row, but the dogs need to go out anyway. Two minutes after I took this photo, it started to rain again…
