One of the last of the heavy industries in Maastricht: the ENCI, a cement factory. The hill on the left (called “De Observant” or “The Observer”) actually consists of the top soil from where they dug the quarry (where the chimney is standing). On the right side of the quarry you see the farmstead Lichtenberg and the ruins of a castle tower.
