Hoofdwacht

The Hoofdwacht is situated on one of the most famous squares of the Netherlands, the Vrijthof in Maastricht. It was built in 1736, but had to be rebuilt in 1774 because the foundations were bad. It was used as a military command center, even until 2006, when the municipality of Maastricht bought the building. It is now used for exhibitions.
